April 29, 2011
day 2321a
held the coffeecup
against my chest, felt its warmth
though it was empty
    day 2321b
    into the garbage,
    old love letters, long preserved,
    but never re-read

    day 2320

    April 28, 2011
    day 2320
    he stood, hypnotized
by the sheer number of loaves
    awaiting his choice

    “Don’t Ever” by Praveen

    April 28, 2011

I’m not sure of who this poet is, but I’ve had this poem up in my office for years and thought it’d be worth sharing:

    Don’t Ever by Praveen

    Don’t ever be reluctant
    to show your feelings when
you’re happy, give in to it.
When you’re not, live with it.

    Don’t ever be afraid to
try to make things better, you might
    be surprised at the results.

Don’t ever take the weight of the
    world on your shoulders.

Don’t ever feel threatened by the future,
take life one day at a time.

Don’t ever feel guilty about the past,
    what’s done is done.

    Don’t stop learning from
any mistakes you might have made.

Don’t ever feel that you are alone,
    there is always somebody there
for you to reach out to.

Don’t ever forget that you can achieve
so many of the things you can imagine…
It’s not as hard as it seems.

    Don’t ever stop loving,
    don’t ever stop believing,
don’t ever stop dreaming your dreams.

    day 2318

    April 26, 2011
    day 2318
    I feel l’m headed
    for the precipice; maybe
    that’s where I should be

    day 2317

    April 25, 2011
    day 2317
    unmaintained pathways
    covered with overgrown vines –
    neglected garden

    day 2315/2316

    April 25, 2011

    day 2315
    the girl said to us,
    “Come over to our table,
    and help with the Boot.”

    day 2316
    I walked down a path
I haven’t walked in years and
    found my mind drifting

    day 2314

    April 21, 2011
    day 2314
    I said, “Door-to-door
must be hard,” and she replied,
    “Thanks for being nice.”
